New Post: How to get AutoComplete window handle?

Hi guys!
I have been working on adding a ToolTip next to my autocomplete window like most IDEs do to display help from XML help documents. However, I cannot get the spacing right without being able to get the current width and height of the autocomplete window.

I figure that the autocomplete window is part of the native Scintilla control, so I want to use P/Invoke to get its dimensions to show my ToolTip in the correct place. All I need is the autocomplete window handle but I cannot find it for the life of me anywhere in the ScintillNet source. Does anybody know where I might find it?

Yes, this is possible by simply setting them as one of the keyword lists.

Currently I am using this fantastic control. This control fulfills our maximum requirements. We are using this control to write a function in “cs” language. In this function we wish to highlight a specific and already existing object "machine" and its properties. I can provide a list of its properties (may be in xml file as keyword list) like following

machine
machine.RegistrationNo
machine.MachineType.Code
machine.MachineType.Weight
......
......
I wonder if is it possible to highlight above list of properties in different color so when end user types it, color will be changed and if not changed then he will come to know that there is typo.

You can't change the line comment symbol of most lexers. Please read previous discussions - there was one not that long ago that regards this exact issue. It is here. In short, the XML attribute LineCommentPrefix doesn't affect how the lexer functions; it only affects the methods in ScintillaNET that work with commenting, not the way Scintilla itself handles highlighting.

Are you able to programming a new method Scrolling.ScrollToLine(n).
-Needs to Zero out the X value of horizontal scroll bar
-Needs to Set the line to equal the very TopLine of the Visible lines in the textbox
-Should really take the caret with it

Point 2 is not offered by any current scrolling capabiliteis and then .ScrollBy is hard to reverse calculate.

A range returned by call of ScintillaNet.FindReplace.Find(Range r, Regex findExpression, bool searchUp) for UTF-8 or Unicode encodings is invalid.

I made changes in the function and fixed the problem.
Please review my code and commit it to the main source.

Closed Issue: AutoComplete Problem with language set to vbscript [26753]

When the configuratrion manager is set to vbscript language, an AutoCompleteList that only contain a single entry is automatically completed twice after the first character is typed.

e.g. after typing j, fill the AutoCompleteList with Join( and show it. Then before typing anything else AutoComplete finishes the j with Join(Join( (yes, twice).

This only happens when the AutoCompleteList contains a single entry, otherwise it works as expected.

Please add support to set the alpha value of an indicator (SCI_INDICSETALPHA). I've tried setting this through the NativeInterface but it had no effect. Not sure why it doesn't work.

The Encoding property on Scintilla confuses a lot of new users. For the most part it should be set to UTF-8 and left alone.

Currently the IncrementalSearcher.moveFormAwayFromSelection method is implemented as a way to move the search box away from the target. This method automatically gets called whenever a "findNext" occurs. However, if you want to create your own UI and placement of this control it will move depending on how you have the control displayed as a result of this call.

A couple of recommended fixes:

1.) Make the method virtual, this way if you want you can extend and overload the method.

2.) Expose a boolean to "configure" this functionality.

Well this is a performance issue that 've recently discovered. It turns out that when u press a single key (or insert some text on the control, it's the same), this callback (TextChanged) get called multiple times and not only one as it should. This may happend to other event's, I didn't test it, but this should be fixed.

Clue: I discover this bug due the fact that I was using 4.0 bench (until I read that it's development was closed, silly me) and here this was working OK, and when I start using last version (2.5.2) this bug appear.
